Big type: kinetic typography for product videos
In the big type style the words are the picture. Each shot is one short line set large, and the motion lives in the letters: they rise out of a blur, pop in with a small overshoot, swap one word for another, or pull together from wide spacing. It works with the sound off, which is how most social video is watched, and it needs very few screenshots.
What it looks like
- One or two lines per shot, set large in your brand typeface, with plenty of empty space around them.
- Motion at the level of the letter: a stagger of a few hundredths of a second between characters, with motion blur on the fast moves.
- An occasional screenshot card as proof, never more than one on screen at a time.
Who it suits
- Products that are easier to say than to show, such as APIs, infrastructure or AI features
- Announcements: a new price, a new version, a new integration
- Vertical video for Reels, Shorts and TikTok, where the words carry the whole message

Questions
Will it use my brand font?
Yes. The engine sets type in the font you give it. If a declared font is missing, the render stops with an error instead of quietly falling back to something else.
Is kinetic typography readable on a phone?
That is what the storyboard check is for. Lines stay short and large, and the vertical cut is laid out for the phone screen, not cropped from 16:9.
Can I get the type animation on a transparent background?
Yes. An alpha export costs 20 credits and is a ProRes 4444 file you can drop into your own editing timeline. See pricing.
